Fitting LED strip lights in the footwells (ambient lighting) - powered from the centre map light?

I am aware of how to route my cables, and how to go about fitting my lights etc. I was hoping someone could clarify which cables I should splice into to allow the footwell lighting to have the same functionality as the centre light, ie; (Off/ Doors open/ On)

Im an electrician, but electrics in cars is a whole other kettle of fish.
