Fiesta ST-2 Bumper help

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have owned my st for a week now (not brand new from dealership) and have just noticed that my bumper seems to have dropped?

After fitting the induction hose to it i noticed that the right side of the front bumper was not as flush as the left side, after looking around a bit more I have seen that some sort of bracket under the bumper seems to have been ripped and now as a result the bumper is now not flush and there is about a 2cm gap under the headlight.  I have attahced pictures, can anyone suggest what my next course of action would be? would this be covered under ford warranty?

Dealer could deny all knowledge and say you or somebody else did the damage. Looks like some form of bodging has been done already.

The first thing I would do is drive to the dealership you bought it from and have it out with them

Undo the bolt on that headlight bracket and see if up you can move the light to its correct position, it's broken in a couple of places and has been badly repaired, aslong as the white clip underneath the headlamp is okthe light will stay in position without that bolt.

I am taking it back to the place I bought it and they are going to get it replaced.  300 mile round trip though :/

there's a fair chance they might say you must have hit something or someone nudged your car whilst you left it parked somewhere. I am not sure i would do a 300 mile round trip for it. There's the cost of fuel, the hours of your time and not even knowing if you will get them cooperating. and what if they say leave it with us and we'll fix it and on't give you a coutesy car, you then have train fare or whatever too to pay

Has he not already said they are going to get it replaced?

My Zetec S does this and so does my mates. He works at Ford and has told me that it's a common thing, there is a little bracket type thing that snaps which causes the bumper to drop a little.

Nothing to worry about but obviously you want it flush so i'd take it back to Ford.
