Which SUV?

Featured Replies

Having run a Qashqai for the last 50k and only had to fit tyres and bulbs I have been well impressed with its reliabilty, now the Mrs wants another SUV, what to buy though I would get the new Qashqai but she wants a change, budget £12000 tops.

Whats the Kuga like for reliability hearing poor reports on MPG

Edge??

Well don't get something like a Mokka because its the most uncomfortable  ive ever been in suspension like pogo sticks and feels like a church bench, maybe the Nissan Juke? I won't recommend ecosport because they're awful but I would a Kuga if it's in the right price range.

£12000 would buy you an excellent mk1 Kuga, mine has been very reliable - getting around 42 mpg in mixed use 2 litre diesel 134 BHP 4 wheel drive. Don't go near the 2.5 petrol if you want mpg.

For £12000 budget?

Apologies did not see the 12k budget. Maybe add a 3k more and get an X5

What of a Kadjar? I know it is beyond budget but you can get a very good hp with 8k deposit

I think this is a sensible choice.

Does it have to be an SUV? If not, loads more choice available, and you'll get much better MPG too, as you don't have to lug around pointless part-time 4WD gear...

Diesels getting a lot of bad press at the moment, on average running an oil burner saves me £1200 a year in fuel, people argue about repair costs, I could fit a new DPF every year and still break even.

All depends on your mileage.
