Cordless or Wireless Headphones from a KVM switch

Featured Replies

When she's up in the office, Pipper has taken to sitting on my headphone cable when she's under my desk/chair, and then curling up fast asleep. I don't like having to disturb her every time I want some music

The headphones are plugged into the audio out on my Belkin SOHO KVM switch, so I can listen to my music which is stored across 4 computers, or from my phone via wi-fi.

So, as not to disturb a sleeping Pipper, will cordless or wireless headphones work off a KVM switch?

Should do? As long as they're the type that has a "base station" which plugs into the speaker/line out socket. If they're the bluetooth kind that link directly to the computer then no, unless your KVM switch has a USB pass through.

i have got two USB pass through sockets on it but they're already in use: so I'll get a base station type

By pass through i mean they disconnect from one computer, and reconnect to the other when you switch computers. If they do, a usb hub should suffice?

As an example only, the base station gets its sound via cable from the KVM switch. I don't own these, so can't comment.

I'm looking at a similar problem so will be seeing if you solve this.
