ford fiesta 2009 starts rough then smooths out

Featured Replies

I have a Fiesta MK7 1.6 Ti-Vct 2009 I have had this since new and have done just over 25,000 miles, it has a full Ford service history.

The last couple of months when I start the car from cold it starts first time but then seems to struggle a little on the revs so I rev the engine or keep my foot pressed down a little on the accelerator pedal then after about 5-10 seconds its fine and then continues to run fine until I go to start it in the morning or when I leave from work.

I have had the battery in it since new and there is no other problems when the car is driving other than this issue when starting, I thought it may just be because of the cold/damp weather but this has not happened in the winter before, as you can see from the low number of miles I only drive short distances so the car never gets a good run out really.
