Jack97
Hi guys new to this, need a little help. I currently own a mk6 1.2 and I'm upgrading to a zetec s. I'm unsure of wether to get a petrol or a diesel? I plan on making this my little project, which would be best?
Tiexen
if you do over 12,000 miles a year a diesel makes more sense.
isetta
when you say project, do you mean including engine mechanics? the diesel will be more complex. what kind of age? I had a 2007 mk6.5 fiesta 1.6tdci, zetec, not zetec s. same engine and power. I absolutely loved the performance of it, the low revs torque. Mine was 16valve twin cam. later ones are 8 valve single cam. People will tell you these diesels are plagued by turbo failure due to oil way blockages and leaking injector seals (chuffing sound and or smell of diesel fuel cooking on the cylinder head where it seeps out around the injectors). I did have injector seal leaks, but turbo fine.

Assuming his project is performance based.
