Help needed: 63 plate Zetec S turbo

Featured Replies

My turbo has packed in, think it's only the bearing that have gone. Before it stopped working there was a metallic grinding sound. Been to garage and they said I need a replacement and quoted me £1300. Does anyone know the turbo model so I can enquire with turbo refurbishment places to see if I can get a refurbed one. However none have them know what the model of the turbo is. Can someone help?

Petrol or Diesel? Also what's the power output?

A quick look on the internet suggests Garrett if it's a 1.6tdci but surely any decent specialist can help?

It's 1.0 123bhp petrol 63plate

If you're after just buying one save the hassle of having a refurb and keep your old one for a refurb in the future this should do

you need to establish why this happened. many people replace turbos and they fail again in a couple of thousand miles because they did not fix the original problem cause which might be inadequate oil supply to the turbo bearings

I'm guessing you already checked your coolant? There was a recall on ecoboosts of this age where a coolant pipe would split and cause all sorts of havok, including turbo failure iirc.
