Mk7 rear wiper delete

Featured Replies

Anybody got a guide to a mk7 rear wiper delete, preferably with pictures?

Also what size bung is needed to fill the hole?

I don't have pictures sorry.

Lift the cap off the arm of the rear wiper to reveal a bolt. Using a 13mm spanner/ratchet remove the bolt then pull the wiper off, it may stick so you can use pliers or mole grips being careful not to hit the screen.

The you have to remove the interior boot lid panel to reveal the wiper motor, it's held on by 3 x 8mm bots, remove these and the wiper motor will pull away.

No idea what size the bung is tbh, sorry. I personally don't like the delete, I tried it and I put it back on after a while as I missed the functionality of it.

Thanks for the help, I'll be giving it a go probably this weekend. I think it'll look better and I have blacked out windows anyway so don't tend to wipe it as I don't really tell the difference. Hopefully it'll look great. Heard that it's hard to get the right size bung though as the shape isn't round it has a flat edge so water may be able to get in.

De-wiper bungs - I've read are 23mm outside and 19mm inside. I've read elsewhere that Halfords have those sizes in a 3 pack. Never done it myself as I think the rear wiper is useful.

It has a flat edge at the top IIRC but if you get the right size bung you can easily modify it with a sharp craft knife. The outer bit of the bung, the bit you see from the back of the car can stay round it's just the bung itself that would need modified, if anything at all.

I'm having trouble get the plastic off! I've got the 2 side bits of but can't get the big bulky one of that covers the motor?
