Squeaking noise

Featured Replies

Hi guys, so I own a Ford Fiesta 1.25L Zetec 2011 and recently noticed that if im cruising in 2nd gear without touching the accelerator (decreasing speed) I can hear a squeak. It usually happens when I turn a corner or low speed in 2nd gear. I've done a emergency stop at 30mph as I thought it could of been a stone wedged into the caliper, still squeaks. The car is at 28,500 miles and all I can think of it is being the brakes. They are still probably the same brakes when it came out the factory. I put my foot on the brake and there is NO noise though... What do you guys think it is? It doesn't make the noise when the car is still, only when the wheels are turning.

you need to jack it up and spin the wheels to see if you can hear it and narrow it down to where.   I had a squeak on mine which was a small stone/large piece of grit wedged between the disc and brake caliper holder (not the moving caliper - so using the brake can no affect on it). I drove about 20 miles with it making a noise before I arrived at work and jacked it up and found this.
