Ford fiesta mk7 1.0 non turbo

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have a 1.0 non turbo fiesta

My question is does the ecoboost product fit mine?

For example an intercooler or an induction kit

Thank you

no point in an intercooler without a turbo. The intercooler is to cool the air back down after the turbo has (undesirably) heated it. The intercooler is to try to get the air back down to a reasonable temperature like it was before the air went through the turbo. An undesirable side effect of a turbo is that it heats the air due to the turbo being very hot as it is heated by the exhaust.

I suggest you go look up how a turbocharged engine works (or just an air compressor) before you start wanting to mess around with your engine.

Your car will also be a 4 cylinder, compared to the ecoboosts 3. It will have a different engine bay layout, so it's not as if you could buy the manifold, intercooler, intake and a turbo etc. from an ecoboost and bolt it on. Essentially you would be turbocharging your naturally aspirated engine, which costs thousands done right if you pay a garage to do it. In which casd why wouldn't you just buy an ecoboost?

will be the 3 cyl engine that the ecoboost uses. its its just called the duratec fox engine. it does look a bit odd without the turbo attatched.

Fair enough, I always thought the ecoboost was a new engine too. Either way it's not worth the money to stick a turbo on it.

ecoboost is a new engine, but at the same time the same engine without a turbo was produced .

think its around 86hp

how long you had the car?
