Mk6 fiesta 1.3 8 valve idle issues

Featured Replies

OK so car wasnt idling. After bit of research and talking to my brother inlaw (whos a great mechanic) everything pointed to the idle control valve. So we replaced it. The car now idles but, The car is now pulsing while idling, sitting about 1200 and pulsing up to 2000 and back again.

Throttle body seems and sensor seems in working order.

Can anyone help, to speed up the hunt

MAF sounds the favourite for that symptom.

Doesnt have a MAF. But the car seems to have righted itself and is idling well

It might not have a maf, but will have a MAP. If it happens again check for splits or cracks in the intake, extra air will be getting in past the throttle so will add more fuel, hence increased revs.
