How to get music to play thru USB?!

Featured Replies

Okay so playing through Bluetooth works fine but I prefer to play through USB, as

a) it's a bit louder and

b) the display shows the track names.

It usually works fine, plug the phone in, start the car and off it goes.

But for some reason from today it won't play ball. The phone's connected, Bluetooth is off, the phone is charging, I press Aux on the stereo and the screen just shows this:

The phone recognises its playing music through a dock, as you can see

But no sound comes out..!

Really frustrating, anyone know if I'm doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Edit: should mention it's a 63 reg Titanium with the Sony stereo!

  • Thats LINE IN, NOT USB.

Just keep tapping the Aux button until it brings up USB.

Line in is where you plug the 3.5 mm jack in.

If you want track names on Bluetooth - check out my guide. it's super easy.

No problem!

I've linked the guide below, its between £35-50 depending on how lucky you get with parts availability. Feel free to ask questions and I'll happily answer :)

Make sure your USB stick is formatted to FAT32.....I had this problem & when I went to format it, there wasn't an option for FAT32, so I did it with this......................http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm

Is that an iphone?

You need a special cable (as usual on apple) as the control goes via USB but the sound goes via 3.5mm.
