wellhouse0
Normally my Fiesta starts perfectly, but in very cold weather it will only turn over for a few turns then stops without starting. If you repeat this quite a few times sometimes it will eventually fire up. The battery has been tested and is fine. AA have checked all the fuses and checked diagnostics and all is fine. I've seen this mentioned a few times on a few forums but i haven't seen a resolution yet. I've tried the other key and this doesn't make any difference. AA says fiesta has a cranking safe mode that only allows the engine to crank for 1 second and this certainly sounds like that is what it is doing - but why???? This is driving me crazy, any ford mechanics know what is going on, my local dealer is hopeless!
nils
I have this same problem on my mk7 1.4 tdci, I have tested the battery and alternator personally, it does it usually when the temp is under 4 degrees. Have taken it to ford they cant find a problem.
Parkesie
Are you just jumping in and cranking it over straight away?
mintalkin
are you getting the glow plug light before cranking?
