Rear Wiper Issues

I have just replaced the rear wiper motor on my daughter's Fiesta. Slight issue in that the wiper, during operation, keeps lifting off the rear windscreen and therefore, not making contact. What have I done wrong?

I am sure the wiper was pointing to 9 o'clock when it was idle with the old motor, on the new motor, I have to have it at 3 o'clock when it is idle, if that makes sense? 

Any help is greatly appreciated.
