Retro fit heated seats,

Featured Replies

Hi all I,ve got a 66 plate st line what I would like to know is would the front seats already have the heating elements and wiring to enable me to connect them up and use them as heated seats, if yes how would I go about doing it, thanks in advance steve.

No.

You'd need new seats. If it was as easy as plugging them in then Ford would make them a standard option.

You could always by heating elements and fit them under the seat cover. Not sure where you would plug them in but I'm sure there will be a guide for this somewhere on the internet. I know people that have done this loads of times with Volvos.

That looks like a good setup there.

I fitted those to my Laguna coupe a few years back, they are ok, they don't heat up/get as warm as factory ones but they do make a difference in the cold winter months on leather seats.

Pretty easy to fit if you have basic mechanical knowledge, you only need a good powered feed and earth supplied to under the seat area from the car, the rest of the wiring is in the kit and all can stay under the seat, I also mounted the switch on the seat, best place for it.

Remember to disconnect your battery before you start and don't connect back up till after seats are fitted back in correctly and plugged in or you will have airbag fault codes that will need cleared.
