Whats the maximum size alloys i can have

Featured Replies

Hey,

I have a focus style 1.6 mk2.5 (facelift)

I'm new so bare with me,

I want to put some new alloys on my car I currently have 16s on at the min,

Can I put 17 or 18 inch alloys on the car and drop it by 30-40mm with lowering springs

Many thanks :)

yes you can but it would cause more fuss than you probably want, putting bigger alloys on would cause the rolling diameter to be bigger so the speedo will be out of sync you can get it re calibrated or go for lower profile tyres, but comfort and noise will be effected, you better off just going for springs, and lowing it just above the tyre, it will still look good and will cost you alot less money, on alloys and insurance. a good set of eibach springs cost less then £150 if i remember correctly for my car anyway.

i hope this answers your question,
