Cutting out!!

Featured Replies

Hi Guy's, Sorry im new to this so bare with me!! I have a Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI 53 plate, and last Sunday the car cut out on me and when you started it after a couple of minutes it would just cut out, i've had the fuel filter and air filter changed and its still doing it, but now runs longer, its fine above 2,000 rpm but after about 5 mins of dropping below that it cuts out, Before christmas, i was having probs starting it and put it down to being so cold!! and it would also judder sometimes when i was driving it,

Does anyone have a clue what it could be ?? Shes gone into the garage today to have a diagnostic test done.

I had it taken to a garage yesterday for it to go on the computer and all it came up with is fuel pressure issue. What could this be ?? still the same as listed above ?? Hes going to put it on a different computer today to see if this one will give him more information. It now drives perfect until you drop below 2,000 RPM and then it carries on for a few mins then cuts out!! is this a fault with the 1.8 TDCI Ghia's??

sounds like a faulty fuel pump or lifter whats the mileage on the car it could be a leaky fuel pipe but i doubt it i suspect the lifter in the fuel pump or pump itself is the problem if its low mileage talk to ford it may be under an extended warranty
