1.8 cdti instrument cluster behaviohr

Featured Replies

Hi guys first post, did some searching but found nothing. Bought a used focus zetec 1.8 duratorq recently, had an issue when the ignition barrel collapsed all sorted but now instruments and electrics are slow to start up, engine starts fine but guages etc take time to kick in.

Further info I realised may help a touch.
Its a 2008-2010 model focus zetec.
The electric front windows don't work until the dash has 'woken up' fully.
There is no trip reset button on dash its done through a menu on left stalk.
Mechanic at work had a look tonight voltage was an issue but when revving engine didnt speed it he decided he was stumped

I would change the car battery this causes all kinds of weird issues when they die.

Just as update. Had to go for bonnet barrel change and mechanic noticed behaviour. Apparently immobiliser had not been reconnected properly
