Pipper seems to have a hankering to be a washing machine engineer

I do like having a very long extended walk with Pipper, even though it was raining. We did about 36 miles or so over the course of 9-10 hours, and she would've been happy to go further; spaniels like collies don't seem to tire easily. I, however, was starting to get a bit hungry Following the old railway line (that's now a bridleway) into the outskirts of Poole and then a Roman/old quarrying road to the northern foreshore of Poole harbour. We then sort followed the coast, either on it or on roads that ran near it, until we came down to the beaches of Sandbanks. Once on the beach, we kept going to till we were below Southbourne, where we left the beach and walked along the B3059 into Christchurch, and then out the other side to pick up the Avon Trailway. Just after Sopley, we left the trailway and headed towards West Parley and on to Ferndown. Essentially doing a big loop on where we had come from, but 8-10 miles north. We then had a detour in Ferndown Forest and met some huskies, who were practising wheeled sled racing. Pipper and some of the huskies who were waiting for their turn with the sled, had a group sniff of each others bits. We then left the forest to go back towards Hampreston and pick up the river Stour path (east of where we walked yesterday) to come back into Wimborne and then home. Now I've stopped, both my quads and glutes feel rather stiff It wasn't a strenuous walk, so I'm not entirely sure why

I like my dad's new car port! It's great to have my beloved Focus protected when I visit! Although I will have some competition from the Range Rover and Aston (when it arrives) but one of them may be magically parked elsewhere when I visit. It's not quite finished but till do for now. Shame my car is covered in salt! I hate winter. Oh and I also like my new dashcams that were fitted last week!

To be honest I'd trust Pipper to work on my washing machine more than I would half of the "engineers" advertised locally...

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance. Has great dry grip as you'd expect from any tyre, but it's really the wet grip that makes it stand out. Quieter than most tyres too.

bluefin my 100 focus to 140, makes a huge difference. been on for over 2 years and runs fine.

I do like taking Pipper for her first extended stroll, up to Wimborne, then along the river Stour, to Cowgrove (which today lacked the huge crowd of cows that are normally there - perhaps they all being milked at the point we passed). We then went up the Roman road, through Kingston Lacy estate and on to Badbury Rings. where Pipper introduced herself to a pair of Rotties (brother and sister) and three unrelated Standard Poodles. We returned a slightly different route, eventually meeting up with and following the river Allen back into Wimborne. Here's some Pipper is now having a post walk snooze beneath my chair, using both her cuddly haggis and my jeans as a pillow Pipper watching as I pick up her lead, 5 hours ago, before we set out. Although the interior in your Golf may feel a little more premium than the Focus, take a Focus out for a thrash on some windy roads and you'll soon 'feel' the difference in terms of steering feedback, cornering grip etc.

Hello everyone! I don't have a photo yet, hoping someone can help me identify this part, if not I'll take one when the rain calms down! Just topped up my screen wash and noticed a broken rubber pipe hanging down by the battery, I found the other part of the tube and it has a rectangular part on the end that says fomoco cjnka, there are no electrical connections on the part it's literally just a rubber pipe. Any ideas people? I think it may be a breather pipe for something?

hi, ive got a 57 plate 5 dr focus 1.8tdci and for some reason the rear passenger side door open is showing on my dash display and its only just done it anything i can do to sort this out as all the 5 doors lock and unlock with the keyfob but had to take out the interior light bulb out so it wont run the battery down any ideas many thanks

Hello everyone, I just wanted to say hello and to OFFICIALLY join the Ford owners club as I have just purchased a '14 plate Fiesta zetec s Red edition, which is in fact the first Ford vehicle I've ever owned in my life. absolutely love the car and it's a big step up from my Peugeot 107! got a few plans for the car nothing performance wise as my insurance goes through the roof due to age but hopefully a few years down the line for sure! anyway that's all I have to say and uh, well that's it. thanks.

I do like it stopped raining by the time I took Pipper out for her evening stroll I already have one set of saturated clothes drying, I didn't really want another. Pipper spent most the evening snoozing, after she had her tea. But she woke up ready and alert for her evening stroll at 10pm

The chances are you haven't got active bluetooth despite the phone symbol. If the radio mutes when you press the phone symbol=no bluetooth. Put your reg/vin into: https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do which will give you the specs of your car as it left the factory. It's not always right apparently but it's unlikely to be wrong about bluetooth. My understanding is that it was only fitted as standard to TitaniumX cars 'though I might be wrong. I'll post a link to the audio manual if I find it.

If you've got breakdown cover, give them a call and i'm sure they will be able to help. I once locked myself out and they had managed to open the door.

A Terraclean transformed (at the time) my 110K mile 1.8 TDCi to virtually feeling brand new, it also lowered my 'smoke' reading to well blow the UK MOT pass mark. Your engine is the older version of mine and once Terracleaned, benefits from having the EGR valve blanked (15 minute job and a £5 part of ebay) to stop all the hot, sooty air getting blown back through the engine.

I don't like a 60 mile round trip in the Focus tonight to get £5 worth of CDs for my mother... I wouldn't have minded so much if 90% of the journey didn't involve narrow country roads in the pitch dark and heavy rain. That said, there were a couple of positives to it which I will post in the "do like" thread.

GE Sportlight are also a good option. Please do everyone a favour and keep your bulb upgrade road legal though :)

Have a look for places that will do a carbon clean on your engine this drastically reduce emissions, as for power washing inside the exhaust I have no idea.

I have the Zetec 1.6 automatic, very happy with it, as said before can't be doing with all that messing about with a gear lever. Quiet nippy but trying to overtake at times requires a bit of forethought as the kick down is not all that impressive. Uses a fair bit of juice driving around town. To quote Adrian, I am also an OAP, 82 young so my days of a boy racer have long gone. Yes I love my Focus.

good grief , if your going to drag this lame thread out for 5 pages at least get the science right. the battery is there to start the car and little else , once engine is running the alternator provides all electrical power , the battery wont be drained in the slightest. if you switch on all heaters and lights what happens ? the revs drop momentarily then rise back to normal tick-over. what does this mean ? it means fuel consumption wont be effected by any great degree from electrical loads otherwise the engine would run faster every time you switch something on and it doesnt. you think theres a direct relationship between power usage and fuel used - there isnt in a modern car , thanks to the engine management using smart technology to balance , monitor and prioritise all electrical systems. now please shut up until you know what you are talking about.

Hi Rhys. Where are you thinking of directing the cold air to if youre still running a sealed box? Are you planning on drilling additional holes in it for the new intake pipe? Usually cold air feeds are fitted for open air induction filters as they can suck up warm engine bay air actually reducing power if the temps are too high. If you want to add an additional feed to your box you could drill out the bottom of it and fit a trumpet securely through it, jubilee clip a cold air flexi hose to the other end sticking out of the box and then cable tie the hose in place where it will draw in the air behind the front grilles. I have a Focus Zetec S 182 and a popular mod on mine is to switch to an ST air box as that has an additional cold air feed.
