Sounds like you activated the courtesy lights. After getting out the car push the stalk as if putting high beam on. You'll hear a beep. This means they are on and stay on for about 30 seconds before going off. It was implemented to help you find your way after stopping, such as pulling onto a driveway - simply activate them and lights stay on whilst you get your key to open the door for example. They turn off automatically after 30 seconds.2 points

Hi to all and thanks in advance for all help /advice received. Is it possible to upgrade the standard 1.6i duratec engine in my 53 plate streetka to a more powerful 2.0l unit ? If so would the conversion be straight forward ? What, if any , obstacles would their be ? Adjustments to be made ? Thanks kindest Regards joe1 point

I have a 1.8 this zetec 09 plate and my engine malfunction light keeps coming on n off and car is sluggish n hesitant, it's poor of fuel averaging 28 mpg,was told to clean the egr pipe but was clear, then told to unplug my air flow sensor I did that and the car ran perfect apart from the orange engine light being on,so iv cleaned my sensor and put back together and now my car is sluggish again, any ideas what to do next as I can't just keep it unplugged Thanks1 point

Hi Dez. There must be a logical reason for it. Taking the car into Fords will cost at least a limb!1 point

Hello Boys and Girls. I have a 2015 Focus Titanium 1.5 tdci. I have been given an illuminating gear knob. visually it looks to be the correct gear knob, It's complete with the leads and still in the ford box complete with instructions. I had a quick look this afternoon and couldn't find the plug to connect the gear knob. Anyone know if you can fit such a knob or where the cable would be hidden if there is one on this model. Thanks in advance. Graham1 point

I do like going to off to visit one my brother's best mates, who just happens to be a physiotherapist, and discovering after he'd run a few tests, probed, prodded and scanned my right quadriceps tendon, that it's not torn to the extent I feared. Although the pain in comparison to last time, had made wonder if I might have torn the whole thing in two Ideally, he would like me, to employ the R.I.C.E method with it (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation), plus he's.given me a series of exercises to do at least 5 times a day to prevent it reoccurring and to help strengthen the tendon while it heals. I've also got to wear a hinged knee open patellar support brace for a while, which is being sent to me directly tomorrow, as he didn't actually have my actual size in stock . For the time being, until I get it, he has taped it up with a cohesive bandage, which is supporting it nicely However like last time (with less pain), I can comfortably walk on it on a level plane or an incline that is slight, providing I don't lift my leg more than about 75mm. Although, on steeper inclines and on stairs, it's decidedly painful and I end up walking rather erratically I also like that Pipper has been here a week, and she's so settled in, you'd think she had been here for years1 point

I do like getting the Focus' N/S/F tyre replaced this afternoon... To say the old one was a "little worn" would be an understatement. Fortunately I had a spare Nokian from the other Focus which was the right size, so it'll do for now until I replace both for a matching pair. The current O/S tyre is still OK for another few thousand miles.1 point

we could say that about anything we buy is it genuine or not, i mean at the end of the day it`s just a name stamped on that product until then it`s unbranded1 point

I had a similar problem so this may be worth a look of course it may not be this but worth a try. Underneath the dash on the passenger side is a soft felt cover that covers a fuse box and connectors, unscrew the top two white plastic nuts can do this by hand move the felt down and in the middle of the box you will find a big redish wiring connector try pushing it on and give it a good wiggle. Mine was loose and gave similar problems that you describe . As I said worth a try as mine had actually come off and was still a bit loose even after being put back on. There are some black connectors as well but mine where ok. As I said it gave me similar problems and fixed it when properly seated. I found this solution on the internet . Hope it helps1 point

Hi, I've recently bought my 2001 focus Ghia 1.8, the factory fitted stereo has been working fine until I had the car washed and valleted today, now it doesn't switch on at all, I've checked fuses under the bonnet but they're all OK, are there any fuses elsewhere? Back of stereo for instance? Thanks1 point
-
Behind the passager glove box there are fuse push the sides of the glove box together then disconnect the stay on the left side of glove box this will allow you To get to these fuse1 point

Found on a few Volvos decades ago, it's a 'getting you home' light which will stay on for a short period of time so that if your car is parked at the front of the house you can see the door and get door keys etc if you park up at night.1 point

If it's anything like the mk5 it's not that they are all permanent live it's just some of them, like the 12v socket fuse, are delayed in powering down. The 12v socket stays live for approx 60mins after turning the ignition off. I have mine plugged in at all times, the amount of draw is negligible for that 60mins. Maybe try going back to the car after 90 minutes or so after killing the engine then checking the fuses again that you think should be switched. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

One where all your mods are declared and covered. i take it you're asking who to go with, go for a specialist insurer, they may cost more but the mods will be covered properly. Try, greenlight, brentacre, Sky, Chris Knott, Adrian flux, some need you to be over 21.1 point
