Zico
The stupid thing in my case is that I recently picked up a Brodit phone holder which is attached to the driver side pillar and have a fast charge cable to hook up to it. If the Inbay is priced right, then I may pick one up as a secondary charge location and/or place for a passenger to charge there phone if I am using the Brodit.
jeebowhite
I just bought a wireless charging kit - spent less than a tenner on it! if it works, I will just buy another few charge pads, and mount one in the car (under the cup holders, or maybe in the top of the arm rest or similar).
Zico
Which pad? Would it fit into the cup holder at the bottom? Only thing I can think of that might not work is if the phone needs to be flat against the charge pad and whether or not you could lay most smartphones flat in the space of the cup holder (will have to test with my Nexus 5).
jeebowhite
Mines a universal kit... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351463904291?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=620548066428&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I will be trialling its limits. I will try charging through things, and if it charges through a layer of plastic, I will install it somewhere in the car, like the cup holders, or more likely around the gearstick!
Zico
Hmmm from the description: Charging pad: Transmission range :5-10mm Ultra Thin Receiver: Wireless distance: 5mm If true then it will be limited to above most of the plastics in the car :(
jeebowhite
Probably true. Even then, I could run the wiring up to in front of the instrument cluster and lay it in front...

jeebowhite
Been running my wireless charger for a while and it works perfectly! I got a smaller set of charge pads as well so I can slip one in the car as I finish up my dash druid project Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk
