2010 Fiesta Sedan Rear Lights Query

Featured Replies

Hi people, New member here with a question regarding my recently bought 2010 LX WT Fiesta Sedan. I am trying to figure out what the 2 white triangular lights are in the pictures. I assumed that they are reverse lights but do not light up at all.

There is no information on the light in the manual that i received with the car.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Which country are you in ?

Australia (Yes our cricket team sucks :()

Indicators ?

Are there any bulbs / l.e.d.'s behind the lens ?

The Indicators are on the corners of the car where the other white light is. Had a look if there was any bulbs but couldn't see any. I didnt look any further as i already broke 3 clips trying to see if there were any bulbs

What cricket team . . . . . ? ! ! :)

Do the Aussies still play cricket . . ?

If they are not indicators or reversing lights - I'm struggling to think what else they could be ?

We don't have Fiesta saloons / sedans in the U.K.

In the absence of more knowledgeable ideas I can only suggest asking a Ford stealer in Oz ?

Please let us know for future reference :)

I think they quit playing cricket after the 2nd test as they didnt turn up to the last 2 tests

Yeah ill be taking it to a Dealer / Stealer tomorrow to see what they say and ill reply back

I think they are possibly unused indicators / reversing lights to comply with regional ( southern hemisphere / American / Canadian) variations in rear lighting legislation

they look like they might house optional trim specific lights, like LED indicators on a higher trim model

or they could purely be there as filler. just to pad out the light box to make it look more "full"

I spoke to my local ford dealer and they were stumped with what the lights are for. Im thinking they are just fillers and not used at all.

Ill try and find a workshop manual for the car and see if that has any information but im about to give up trying to work out what it is for hahaha

^^ That's what we thought ^^ :)

Confirmed today that you were all correct. No help from Ford Dealers at all but on the way home i pulled up next to a 2011 LX WT Fiesta Sedan and asked them if their lights were the same. They showed me that there is a hole for the globe but is skinned over like the rest of the reflector.

I was worrying that the fiesta i has just bought was having some electrical issues or something else. Thank you all for the info provided :)

it's a hateful design choice - as annoying as cars with single reversing lights when there's easily room for two, or brake lights and rear light combos - have separate lights, don't just make the normal lights a little brighter to indicate stopping
