I've managed to get insurance cheaper for my daughter by going on one of those multi-car policies, I have my own car insured for just myself, and my daughter has her car insured for herself, with me as a named driver, both policies are in our own names and we are the main drivers for our own vehicles, with me being able to move her car out of my way when she blocks me in.

This is all perfectly legal and each of us retain our own no claims bonus.

It also lowered my insurance premium as well

One word of caution here, just make 100% sure you are covered.

I was working as a Taxi driver last year on the companies insurance. And they changed the policy, but forgot to put MY car on the policy.

Long and short of it I spent a night in Lockerbie nick had my car confiscated and got a 30 month ban for driving for hire and reward.

Even though I was working for the company and its not my job to make sure im insured, as a driver it is my responsibility to make sure in the eyes of the law.

I get my license back next November.

After many hours of searching only CO - OP offer it for under 25's.

So I may just consider paying £4400 for 1 year :'(
