1.8 TDCI Check Engine and Drivetrain lamps on

Recommended Posts

Hi There

Just bought a Ford Focus second hand the other day and no warranty was available due to age (Surprise, Surprise).

This car is a 1.8 TDCI with 115k, It has been throwing up the lights for PowerTrain and Engine Management from I got it and now they are stuck on completely, Was messing about with the engine last night and managed to get all the lights off after poking around with the sensors and glow plugs!

It is very hard to start, sounds like a tractor in the mornings and won't rev past 3000 revs (It's actually a bit lower than that), I also realized that a pipe for the sender for the turbo pressure had snapped aswell I managed to fix that all together but it's went back to the way it was!

It's a very clean car and I have always liked the focus brand so any help would be greatful and I am on a tight budget so if you have any advice try and keep it in simple terms as I will be attempting most of the repairs on my own!

Thanks

- Leigh
