Dooor warning

Featured Replies

I have a 57 plate 1.6 tdci wich has started to randomly put a red light on the dash and says rear drivers side door open when driving even thought you know itis shut. does anybody know what is causing it and how to fix it please.

I had the same problem on a Focus, it was caused by a loose connection in the wiring harness for the door. Open the door wide and remove the rubber cover to the wiring harness then check that all the wires are pushed in fully. Mine kept setting off the alarm when it was parked so it was quite annoying!

I have the same problem. Keep locking the car and it unlocks. Or when I drive off i see the car door red light on and the interior light stay on, so I have to keep opening and shutting the door. According to the German Focus Forum, its a micro-switch on the door lock. You need to spray loads of WD40 into the lock to cure the issue.
