Cooling fans really loud

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2015 Focus, for some strange reasons the cooling fans are really loud when driving and also when the ignition is turned off. When I turn the car off they only stay on for a second but they’re very loud. Bit concerned if anyone could help it would be great.

Do you mean the interior fans or the engine cooling fan?

Have you checked the cooling fan if there's anything in the way of it causing the blades to hit it? On my previous car I once parked under a tree and after going and turning the interior fan heater on it sounded louder and suspected a twig fell in and id getting hit by the fan. After about 2 months the twig must of completed broke and the fan was quiet as before.

Is it a diesel by any chance? It's happened on one of our vans where no matter what temperature the car was the engine fans would be on full speed (even for about 5 mins after your turned the engine off and locked up). Is it taking ages for the car to warm up too?

The engine cooling fan, they go off when I switch the ignition off but even when I’m at some traffic lights stationary or something they’re so loud

Hi! Yes it is diesel and no it’s fast to warm up but yes the fans are always on full speed for some strange reason. They do to everyone we think be ignition is turned off. How did You resolve this?

Hi I don’t think it’s that, the sound is smooth but the fans are on full speed for some strange reason
