Idle trouble

Featured Replies

Hello, I’m liz and am new to this forum, I was hoping some clever person could help me diagnose a problem I have with my 2007 focus ghia. I bought it a few weeks ago, the car has practically a full service history and is immaculate. Had just had a full service and MOT new battery and break pads . Engine sounds perfect and purrs, however the slight or maybe not slight issue is.. when I’m coming to a stop the car seems to idle up and down just over one and below and seems to slightly rev up even though my foot isn’t on the accelerator and sometimes the battery light flashes on and off and the engine feels like it’s going to stall, on about four maybe 5 occasions it’s completely cut out but starts back up straight away.  No issues what so ever when it’s travelling at any speed just when I’m breaking the issue happens. I’m going to call a mobile mechanic to have a look but does anyone have any ideas as to what this problem could be, my husband seems to think it’s a sensor but doesn’t know where to look. Thanks in advance for any help
