Mondeo 2009 2.2 TDCi Hiss

Featured Replies

Can anybody offer some advice on a noise my wife has in her Mondeo please.  It started a while ago and she has had the A/C checked which was OK.  Whilst driving along a hissing noise starts and gets quite loud.  It doesn't happen at any given point or load but just starts whilst driving.  It doesn't seem to do it whilst stationary either.  The noise is a loud hiss like breathing in through open mouth and closed teeth and builds up and dies away again.  It used to then stop for some time but has recently got worse.  Any ideas?  I was going to look at turbo pipes to check for leaks but wondered if there was anything else to check.

As you say check the pipes and hoses, intercooler one is favourite

I've got the same thing but only when the engine is under load.

I've found this disconnected.
