A quick intro

Hi there everyone, I'm Nick and this will be my first ever car forum joined.
I have owned a few Fords in the past which started with a 1.3 mk6 Escort (L plate). I then upgraded to an R reg Mondeo 1.8 but after a while I started having issues with the electrics and the binnacle so I part exchanged it for another (2.0 auto on a P plate). I did like the comfort with the Mondeo but unfortunately I ended up having to scrap it due to rust and the binnacle issue (which surfaced again in the second car).

I have just purchased a 17 plate (2016 model) Fiesta ST-Line 140 and I have to say, it's a lot of fun to drive. It might be a small car with only a 1l turbo engine but it does have some kick to it and that surprised me. I'm going to have a lot of fun driving this car especially as I do a lot of country driving (often in the North York Moors or Peak District) and this is the perfect car for me. I like the ST styling but I couldn't justify the costs involved with fuel, tax and insurance so the ST-Line is a perfect compromise.

I'm not really into the tuning scene myself but I do like seeing what people have done to their cars to boost power etc.

I look forward to chatting to fellow ford drivers here and reading about their experiences as well as picking up hints and tips.

That sounds great. Welcome to the community.

Same - I got a 2018 ST-Line 140PS, and it's an absolute riot! 😄

Anyway, welcome to the forum!

Thanks guys. James, I wish I could have afforded a 2018 model but the one I now have is just as good. I had to go for the 5 door though for ease of access.
I've grown out of the phase where I had to have bigger vehicles with bigger engines like the Vectras or Mondeos. I can have much more fun in a pocket rocket such as the ST-Line 140 with a smaller engine.
It does get some looks when I'm out driving it because it looks like the ST and people just love the colour.

Absolutely just as good! Plus your Deep Impact Blue is a sought-after colour that isn't available on the newer models any more, I think. I know what you mean about the bigger cars. They're not much more fun, and have so many down sides. ST-Line all the way! And yes, I get looks and double-takes, too. Especially from other Fiesta and Focus owners. Most look curious, but I actually had one bloke nod slowly in approval, which made me crack up! 😄
