Anyone know what this hose is for? (MK4 Mondeo 2.2 tit X sport at the back of the engine bay)

Car started making a whooshing noise yesterday and found this disconnected this morning.

Sorted, nothing to do with this hose. Have a split in the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler.
