Engine System Failure,Fiesta Mk6.5 TDCI.2007.

Featured Replies

Had this as an intermittent problem since last August but now constant and car in limp mode. Replacement NGK glow plugs fitted Jan/2016. The garage which fitted these says the glow plugs are fine and they cleared other fault codes. The issue remains. The car cannot climb a hill. Any advice on a fix please.

What are the fault codes? One or more of the codes may most likely be causing this problem.

Glow plug relay and Canbus are the error codes. The garage says the canbus is to do with the glow plug relay and will disappear when relay fixed. They have checked the glow plugs and they are working but no electrical supply is going to them. They ordered a new relay but when they went to fit it near the PCM mounting bracket behind the left headlight, it's not there. There is no relay or loom to attach. So next step is to find where the glowplug relay is if it exists on the Fiesta 2007 1.6 TDCI. When the reg for car was given, they sent the relay and the Haynes manual shows the location also but its not there. Its not on my Fiesta with exact same 1.6 TDCI engine either and that has no issues. Maybe its only on the Fiesta 1.4 TDCI and integrated on the 1.6 TDCI. Can anyone one help, please.

My garage could not find the glow plug relay to check to eliminate the possibility this was at fault. Just shows. After several Google searches I found it in a small black box behind the battery. I took it off and cleaned the brown relay contacts then pushed it back securely by holding the housing. Display does not show fault any more and limp mode gone. Drives as it should now.

That's good to hear. Hopefully it stays that way 👍

Thanks for letting us know, this is exactly the sort of thing we need putting on this forum to help others solve similar problems.

Ive been having an intermittant fault on my Fiesta as shown in the video for several years, usually during the colder months and has been quite regular over the last few weeks. Just found this thread so changed the glow plug relay today to see if that has made any difference to the problem before going down the glow plug change route.

, I have and me that problem today, my car is semiautomate and she blocs in 5 speed, and now just want to started...

ford fiesta 1.4 benzin semiautomate

Weather seems to still affect starting problems today. In the old days it was always damp in the distributor cap. quick spray of wd40 and sandpaper on the rotor arm solved problem(on petrol cars of coarse). Diesel use to be for tractors buses and lorries. 😁 the days when diesel use to be cheaper than petrol.
