Boot cover sagging

Featured Replies

Is there supposed to be a rigid board under the boot carpet? My carpet sags down to the space-saver wheel in the middle, rather than being flat across?

I know it's not important, but I would like to know. Many thanks,

(new owner of 2010 1.4 Zetec Climate).

There should be one; or you can cut our some thin plywood as a replacement.

Thanks Alan18 - I thought it seemed strange not to have one!

mine had a lump of polystyrene that held the tools and sat on top of the space saver and was flat for the carpet to lie on top of, but ditched that and have a full size spare now so that now supports the carpet

  • 2 weeks later...

There's a board made from Correx, the stuff "house for sale" signs are often made from, that sits atop the spare wheel.  Even when present it's not the most rigid thing.
