idling issue

Hi All

looking for some more advice please, I recently purchased a 51 focus 1.6 petrol and I was aware it needs a clutch replacing which is fine I have someone that can do this, but it also seems to have high idling, when stopped.

it seems to be when you come to a stop at a junction or traffic lights it sits at 1500 rpm sometimes goes to 2000 rpm (but not often)then drops after about 20 secs to just under 1000 rpm which is where I would expect it to be, it doesn't seem to have a MAS I've checked the air intake hoses and air box all seems intact and how it should be.

it doesn't seem to bounce the revs when idling or do anything else random.

does anyone has any idea where we could check next or experienced this themselves, would it be linked to the clutch not being right??

thanks in advance everyone.

Regards

Gina
