Drivers side window and mirrors

Featured Replies

After cleaning and vacuuming my 2011 Ford Fiesta the drivers side window will not roll down and the mirrors will not retract or fold in when I lock the car.  It seems that they must be related, perhaps part of the same series of wiring.  Maybe I disturbed some wiring under the seat when vacuuming.  Twice in the last 6 weeks after vacuuming and cleaning the car the car would not start in the morning.  I replaced the battery yesterday as it was original and a little weak.

That's an oddly specific time for things to stop working.  The wires under the seat are for the airbags and belt pretensioners so won't affect this.

It might just be that having the interior lights on and the car 'awake' while vacuuming is enough to drain the battery.  Do they still not work since the battery change?  Have you checked the fuse if so?

Also, did you use any liquid cleaners or wet wipes on the window & mirror switches?
