Engine malfunction (MAF sensor)

Featured Replies

Hi I was driving on the motorway when suddenly the engine malfunction message came on.. I found out later that if I drive about 55mph this message comes up and the car goes to limp mode... Done diagnostic and it turned out to be the MAF sensor.. So I bought a new one and instead of 55mph now its 65mph when the message comes up.. When I disconnect the sensor the car runs ok... Obviously I don't want to drive without the sensor being disconnected for too long.. Anyone has any idea why is it happening or have solution for this before I take the car to the garage?  Thank you.

I can’t see what engine you have?

A check of all intake and boost hoses would be first on my to do list.

Hi sorry I got 2.0 TDCI,,,,

I had something similar, turned out the new MAF was faulty too, it was a cheap one got a better quaity one and all was well, but as Iant say check the hoses

Second that, replace like for like. If it's expensive local order it online.

Aftermarket electronics can cause all sorts of headaches.
