USB Sync module missing ...

Featured Replies

I've just bought a new (used) 2013 Fiesta, very pleased generally.
However, following a battery replacement, the radio display keeps saying "USB not Supported", and later "USB Disconnected" and then repeats this all day long  (about every 2 mins intervals) with nothing connected to the USB port.

As a result of reading this forum, I've pulled and replaced fuse 24, performed a master reset, and looked into replacing the Snyc unit under the passenger side fuse box.

I find that there is no Sync unit fitted, yes holes to support one, yes :Sync unit and cables, no:

I assume it went faulty at some point and was removed, the repeating error messages were disabled. But the following the battery replacement these have become enabled again.

Does anyone have any views, suggestions please ?

I''m not too fussed about the USB port not working, but the error messages are a pain...

Does your stereo have buttons 0-9 or 1-6?

I doubt somebody would remove the unit and the wiring if it went faulty. If anything just the unit would be removed and you could still see the plugs tucked away somewhere. Even then I don't see why as it's a cheap unit and easy to swap. More likely it wasnt fitted from factory.

Thanks Luk34efc.

I tend to agree, but that re-enforces my suspicion (hope) that there is a mean of disabling these annoying error messages, has they didn't appear prior to the battery replacement.

To answer your question, to the right of centre, my stereo has buttons TA and 1 to 6.

I am having the exact same problem with my ford estate I just bought! It's so distracting with the error messages. Did you manage to sort the issue?
