Hello all,

Does anybody know if the mk8 1.0 Ecoboost has a GPF? I'm a little rusty in the understanding of how a GPF works, is it pretty much just like a DPF or are there any major differences?

Thank you in advance.

There is a thread on the Focus forum "Exhaust filter limit reached - on petrol car?" which goes into a lot of detail on this issue. The Mk 4 Focus has the revised 1.0 which has a reversed head to accommodate the gpf. Afaik this has not reached the Fiesta yet - mine certainly doesn't have it (fortunately!) possibly it will come when a facelift occurs?. The ST with the 1.5 does have gpf.

Hi,

Has anyone had any problems with the ford fiesta 1.0ltr ecoboost ( 2018 reg ). The part in question is the gasoline particluar filter. My vehicle is showing a code of P226D.

Afaik they are not fitted with a GPF.

There have been others that have reported a DTC regarding the GPF which has been cleared by a software update by Ford.

I think it depends when built. Mine (Feb 2018 build) doesn't, but I think it came in later that year.

After this thread started 4 years ago, further information came to light (via @iantt iirc).

We had assumed that gpf only came in with the revised (chain cam) engines but it seems the original wet belt version got it on cars built from around mid 2018.

Yes I had thought it was only fitted on the revised engines, after they had reversed the head.

And, as we have recently found on another thread, we assumed all the revised engines on the Fiesta were MHEV, which at least 2 members have shown is not the case.

I suspect that with Fiesta production ending shortly we'll be finding all sorts of "oddities" in the next few years!
