Fiesta Idle Control Valve Query

Featured Replies

Hi folks. This is a query regarding my wife's Fiesta 1.25 T reg Zetec.(I've got a Ford as well but it's a Escy Mk5 XR3I).The query relates to the Idle Conrol Valve on her Fiesta that has been proven to be faulty.I've just been delivered a replacement part using t'internet and was wondering whether there was a need for a gasket to be used as there doesn't seem to be signs of an old one when I've taken the old valve off and the new valve hasn't come with one.Any help on this matter will be appreciated, thanks very much...Gary

personally i would be making a gasket or even smear a small amount of gasket paste on it.

Thanks for the speedy reply Stef.I'm not too happy about making the gasket but I'm sure I've got some gasket paste in the garage from a previous thermostat repair job.Cheers,Gary.
