MK8 Cabin Filter and Auto Lock

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anyone tell me:

1. How do I turn auto door lock ON, so that after I start the car and drive away the doors lock automatically. The video on ford website is for mk7 and I was not able to apply it successfuly to the mk8 model.

2. Can anyone share a photo or video tutorial hot to replace the cabin filter?

Thanks

Anyone? cheers

There is an option to enable / disable the auto lock/unlock in settings , press menu button on steering wheel , and then navigate to vehicle settings ( or adv. settings ) and then select doors & locks , from there you can enable disable these features.

Can you send me the one you found for a mk7 because mine doesn’t have this in the menu and I’d love to know if it’s possible

This needs enabling with Forscan first, to the IPC. I did mine earlier today.

The Mk 7 is enabled differently to the Mk8, in that there’s no menu option; it’s enabled with Forscan directly to the body control module (BCM).

mine didn't need any forescan enabling , it just came from the dealer with the feature enabled , just you can use the menu to enable / disable it , however a visit to the dealer can enable it

Regarding the cabin filter. It is pretty much like the old models, but actually a bit easier :) Here are the steps if anyone is wondering (this is a description of a left-hand drive car)
1. Remove the small rectangular plastic cover that is next to the left foot of the passanger – Use a very thin flat-headed screw driver, because the plastic is soft. This will reveal a torx screw (t30 if I am correct).
2. Unscrew the torx. It is holding the bottom-most pastic of the central tunnel where the gershift is. It has a non permemnent locking agent so make sure to replace it if its not enough left after the removal.
3. Gently slide the long plastic part forward and remove.
4. The rest is like the old model. 4 torx scres and below the cover is the filter. You may need to remove the cap of a plastic rivet that is holding an isolation material below the glovebox. Simply sqeeeze and remove. This way it is easyer to remove one of the torx screws holding the cabin filter cap.

5. Reverse the steps and you are done.

It was a 10 minute job for me, never done it before.

Hi,

I can't seem to take out the long plastic part (step 3). Here's my attempt:

Is that the correct procedure?

Thanks!

It's not enabled in the UK, but is in some other markets. I see from your profile you've picked NonUK as location, so guessing they turn it on for your country 🙂
