Hi

I was filling up the washer fluid today and noticed a couple of slits in the rubber pipe which comes up and in front of the engine cover (middle-left hand side). The slits look the same distance apart and length. (Edit: tried to link a picture but did not work)

However not sure if this is part of the design of the rubber hose or not.

Does anyone know what this rubber hose serves and whether it would cause damage if it were to split and leak whatever it is carrying?
