I've recently purchased a 2015 1.0 EcoBoost with only 13,400 miles on the clock and when I was driving yesterday the change between 1st and 2nd became stiff plus when i pulled it out of 2nd the gear stick stayed to the left rather than pulling itself toward neutral as it should.

It was an intermittent fault.

Driving it this morning and all gear changes are as they should be.

I have only bought this car to use as a learner car when I qualify as a driving instructor in a couple of months time and already feel like i can't trust the cars reliability.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated thanks.

    keep an eye on it; my previous car behaved like this after driving in wet weather (gear change went stiff) - water in the linkages between the lever and the gearbox believe it or not.. Never bothered fixing it
