passive Anti theft system fault

Featured Replies

I have owned a 2007 Ford Fiesta 1.25L Petrol(7)  since September 2018. It handles well after replcing the rear shocks . I have also had the battery replaced.

After about two months after starting the car and stopping somewhere, it would not re-start. I resolved this by taking the key out and going through a process of locking then unlocking doors and the car restarted. I continue to have occasional instances of the ignition key not working.

My local garage have serviced the car and identified the following faults.

Engine  B1601 - Passive Anti Theft System Received Incorrect Key Code From Ignition Key

U2510 Invalid Security Data Received from Powertrain ECU

Immobilizer (PATS)

B1601 - Passive Anti Theft System Received Incorrect Key Code From Ignition Key

U2510 Invalid Security Data Received from Powertrain ECU.

My local Garage have told me I need to get this resolved at a Ford Main Dealer

I am concerned about the cost of this , especially as I only paid £750 for the car.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Derek

Was this issue ever sold? If so I’m having the same issue and any information would be helpful
