Issues connecting Android phone to Sync3 via USB...

Hiya, I hope someone might be able to shed some light on a frustrating issue I have.....not sure if it is car based or phone based problem....

Up until recently, my Sony Xperia XZ3 has been perfect in my car. My car is a Ford Mondeo Mk5 using their Sync3 'info-tainment' system.

There are two options to connect the phone to the car, either by bluetooth, or by cable via one of the cars USB points using the 'Android Auto' app within the phone.

Currently, bluetooth works fine, to a degree.... Making phone calls hands free, no problem, however, music playback via Spotify is stuttery, as if it's a CD that is skipping forwards by a half second or so.

Also, the method of connection via cable doesnt work at all now, whereas upto a few days ago, it worked fine...... If I connect the 'type C' lead to the phone, the phone 'sees' it briefly - indicates on charge, and the 'ripple lines' eminate from the bottom of the screen upwards, but then, two seconds later, the charging symbols dissapears implying it has been taken off charge, and the car sync3 system and Android auto don't connect......

Things i've tried......

Deleted the phone from the car, deleted the car from the phone, uninstalled Android Auto, then gone through the normal process of re-installing Android Auto and getting the phone / car to see each other via bluetooth. However, still no joy with 'A/A' and music playback via 'B/T' is still stuttery.

Absolutely no idea what's happening!

My fingers are crossed that someone can help....

Cheers,

Neil

I'd be tempted to check your android version, do any updates. And then blank the phone so it's a fresh clean android os, and start from there. Fixes all sorts of issues from my experience. Are there any updates for your sync, is it on latest install for you VIN?
