Rounded off torx coil pack screws

Hi Guys Your help please.My Sons Old Focus 1.6 needs a new coil pack.Unfortunately 2 of the 4 Torx mounting screws have rounded off and We can’t get a bit to bite to remove them .Any one else had this problem and how did You get them out.? Thanks

    Drill the heads off them.

    Use a removal tool like Speedout or similar.

    Cheers Guys. Is it something You have both had to do with Focus coil packs? Is it common or have I just been unlucky?

    I've drilled a few heads off the screws on the older mk1. drill the head off them get grips on the remaining part once the coil pack is removed.

    Thanks Stef.Well it kind of resolved itself.The coil pack footings were as brittle as Hell when I went to do the job the old (defective )coil fell to pieces and I just removed the two seized studs with grips!! Car now running beautiful but the engine lights still on.Do I reset it and how ? Or will it just go out eventually on its own?

    Well that makes life a bit easier 😂😂

    It might clear itself after a few drive cycles without a misfire.. if not it’ll need cleared with a scan tool.

    Thanks Stef. I disconnected the battery waited an hour and then reconnected it and the light now has gone off.Not sure if this is the correct procedure but it seems to have worked!!
