I've only had it with a few cables that my MK8 didn't like.  Think I went through about 3 before I found one it was happy with.

yes but it even does the same with flash pen as well disconnects after 30 secs so cant install latest sync update ,

No. No problems here.

Been using a SanDisk 8gb USB stick for music for over 12 months in the Mk 8 with no issues - used the same one in 4 different cars (3 Ford) previously over a 10 year period - all with no problems.

Format the stick 'exfat' or use under 4gb

Not sure if you got a resolution to this but I've had the same thing (and more)

Mk8 ST3 does the following:

- random and frequent disconnect of USB device when using front USB port

- sat nav freeze and restart

- reverse camera on in forward gears

- navigation unavailable

Further to that have come out the to the car ona couple of mornings with windows wide open yet keys not being touched or leant on overnight.

Went into local stealer for diag and sure enough the USB performed fine on test although I doubt it was tested properly. Advised to turn global open off (what's the point in having it in the first place?)

I was told the other three issues would be resolved by a Ford Sync Module software update (anticipated Q1 2020) but was given no more information on reported issues or proposed fixes to code.

Anyone else experienced this or waiting on an update?
