Sync 3 update working

Featured Replies

sorry I tries to delete this post, as I wrote it in swedish. Got a blackout...

Tried to update the Sync 3 through Ford homepage 6 month ago but tried again today and this time, after I put in the VIN code, there was a update to download and it did work. For the first time ever I can use my iphone and apps. And thought that maybe other not knowing about this to....

Edit: The first time I used a US ford site and my vin code did not work using that time. For no more reason that I am from Sweden, I today used the Swedish site and it worked. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but I can mention it. I hade the Sync 3 version 2, installed on my 2017 Ford Ranger, and no phones worked more then play music with but not use the apps. And I do not have any navigator in my car. And then now I can!!! If anyone not getting this working, just go to www.ford.se and translate it, so you can find where to do this...

I just purchased my 2017 focus titanium navigator and tried to update the sync 3 over wifi I gave up after sitting in the car for over an hour lol, then tried the USB method logged in to ford website put in VIN showed an update, downloaded and unzipped to USB drive, put in car and the update was completed in about 20 mins, its not the most user friendly experience, I also managed to find the log file and upload it to the ford website so the update to my car should now be registered.

Yes I did not write about the log file, but was the same for me. The update makes a huge differens from before. I now have a lot of new functions in my car. The trick is also to find and put the "right" apps in you phone, for this to work. If you follow this link, you will see wich apps that work in your Ford.
