MK4 Ford Focus Hiccuping / No Power

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently put a post out about a juddering problem but I don’t think I got the problem across properly.

It is hiccuping when going through gears and then loss of power straight after it does it.

Ive taken it too Ford and they said they couldn’t find anything wrong and diagnostics wasn’t telling them much. It has carried on doing it since then & it’s getting quite bad. It seems to do it regularly on the first journey of the day and then very intermittent throughout the day but still does it.

It all started 2 days after I let the fuel tank run down to 10 miles and thought it could be fuel pump / fuel filter related but surely ford would of checked these and the car has only done 16000 miles and serviced at 13000.

Any help/suggestions?

Being that the MK4 is fairly new model still, it may be this is a real issue, but they just havn't realised yet.

So I would keep monitoring, if possible set up a phone or camera to record it happening on the first journey of the dat, to try and capture evidence?

Can you observe any engine rev's fluctuations on the tacho when it happens?

p.s. this type of question might be better off in the Focus specific sub forum too, the general section gets a lot of traffic but for model related issues its better to go more specific quite often.
