Foot well water

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

I'm having a problem at the moment with water lying on both foot wells on the passengers side. I suspect faulty door seals however it may be coming from somewhere else as well. There is a bit of dampness on closer inspection when I peel back the seals. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. My car is a 63 plate Focus 1.6tdci 5 door.

Not had a Mk 3 Focus so unfortunately don't know the specifiic problem areas with that model.

However, have had problems in various cars with flooded/damp footwells over the years due to blocked underbonnet drains below the windscreen area. If water builds up here it can find it's way into the car via various grommets, heater ducts etc and end up almost anywhere, so I always check there if having similar issues.

Recently had a problem with damp in my wife's SEAT Mii and a build up of sodden leaf mulch in that area turned out to be the culprit.

Have you checked if the spare wheel well is full of water? It could be full and spilling over into the footwells. If it is full then have a read of this for a now very common cause -
