Hi I'm new here, 

 

I have a 2012  s max titanium sport ,petrol automatic. A few weeks ago pulled up and lost transmision turned off the engine and on again and all was fine.

 

 

I plugged it into a friends diagnostics and it came up as shift control solenoid D performance or stuck off.

 

Can any one tell me what is involved with sorting this and can it be done by a general mechanic or does it require a gearbox specialist?

 

Some people have said change the fluid and filter and it may cure the issue.

 

Can anyone advise?
