Ford Ka Mk2 Digital Audio Issues

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Just bought a second hand KA Mk2 and i'm having some audio issues that are extremely frustrating. I have had a hunt round but no one seems to know the answer and I refuse to pay a ford garage a fortune for the privilege of telling me something simple. I thought I would try again anyway.

Stereo works and so does the Bluetooth connection to the car as I can use my phone through the system to make calls. However when it comes to digital files its a whole different story. I cannot play digital files via a USB stick or my Android phone as the car just doesn't recognize that they are there. The USB port works as I am getting power from it but no connection to anything else.

I have tried FAT32, MP3, Wav, folders and non folders and still all I get is 'No SRC' on either media. The damn thing will play MP3's as I can write them to a CD and play them but that is so very limiting and wasteful.

Please does anyone have an answer or suggestion as i'm really irritated by this. I would quite happily get a different stereo fitted except that my insurers want an extra £500 for a £100 stereo! (it seems they don't specify modifications)

Thanks in advance

Nik
